The British Petroleum (BP) Company’s North Africa division plans on increasing natural gas supply to Egypt from 1.2 billion cubic meters to 2.5 billion cubic meters by the end of 2020, said BP North Africa Regional President Hisham Mekawi.

The company also eyes on more business activities in Egypt for building one of BP largest global investment hub in Egypt, Mekawi said, adding that BP had put around $25 billion into Egyptian oil and natural gas industry.

Since BP debut on Egyptian lands, it has produced around 40% of Egypt’s oil output, the regional president stated.

At the present time, BP annually accounts for 10% of total oil output and 30% of total gas production in Egypt, he pointed out.
